In order to heal, it is necessary to undertake in-depth work on oneself, which begins with expressing one&#8217;s truth, making one&#8217;s voice heard, acknowledging the damage suffered, and evacuating feelings of guilt and shame, thus enabling one to change perspective and see oneself as a survivor, rather than a victim.<\/p>\n<p>We are not all equipped to cope with this often long, tedious and painful process of reconstruction. Individual resilience depends on many factors, which can be lacking when we need them most.
